The Main Event.

Wrestlers, coaches and fans, want to compete in an elite tournament in Pennsylvania? Here's your chance.

It could be amazing!

Imagine: East vs. West, WPIAL vs. District 11, PIAA sophomore state champion Trey Kibe of Mifflin County vs. North Jersey Duals Outstanding Wrestler Brian Soldano of High Point, N.J. It could happen.

Where? When?

The Keystone Wrestling Classic will be held Nov. 17 at the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex on the campus of Indiana University of Pennsylvania. The folkstyle (scholastic) event will serve as a primer for the upcoming season.

The North Jersey Duals attracted 420 wrestlers in the first Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) event in the region in years. This AAU event, the first of its kind in years, could be record-setting. All wrestlers will be required to purchase AAU memberships, which will be good for other events such as the 2020 Disney Duals.

This individual tournament, given its proximity to the Greater Pittsburgh area, promises to be top-notch. District 7 has dominated the PIAA state championships for several years and with the success of the North Jersey Duals,400-plus matmen could journey west to test the best.

Call it a challenge.

Pittsburgh-area state champions Carter Dibert (Franklin Regional), Alejandro Herrera-Rondon (Seneca Valley), Sam Hillegas (North Hills), Gerrit Nijenhuis (Canon McMillan), Thayne Lawrence (Frazier), Dayton Pitzer (Mount Pleasant) could defend their territory against some of the best from the east.

Other PIAA state champs eligible to compete include: Gary Steen (Reynolds), Sheldon Seymour (Troy), Ryan Crookham (Notre Dame), Jackson Arrington (Forrest Hills), Brock McMillen (Glendale), Ed Scott (DuBois), Kyle Swartz (Northern York), Gaige Garcia (Southern Columbia) and Colby Whitehill (Brookville).

Pack your bags and head for Indiana, Pennsylvania.

Some of  the premier club teams in the state -- Young Guns, Quest, Bad Karma, All-American to name a few -- are all within shouting distance. It wets the appetite of wrestling fans just thinking about the possible battles.

The competition will not be limited to high school competitors, but there also will be junior high, (11-12), (9-10, (8-under), (6-under) and girls divisions.
